Champagne is a celebration, it's a toast, and it's the way to bring in the New Year with good cheer. This form of sparkling wine is the beverage of choice for our most joyous occasions, and our most formal ceremonies. So, how did this bubbly brew get to have such a place of honor and dignity in human society?

Part of the reason for champagne's upscale reputation is that the nature of the liquid itself is festive. Store under high pressure, the bottle opens up slowly, with someone teasing the cork from the head of the bottle slowly. Even as they do anticipation rises in the room as everyone waits with bated breath for that one, loud, POP, that burst of sound that signals that the party is ready to begin. This is often followed by a spray of foam as it escapes eagerly from the body of the bottle.

Plastic Champagne flutes are excellent for crucial occasions like birthdays, anniversaries, and any other event where a congratulatory or celebratory feeling is needed. Graduations are another time that is perfect for a champagne toast. Even though it's nice to have glass champagne flutes, ordinary throwaway cheap plastic champagne flutes are loads more reasonable and is generally enough for one time events.

You are probably correct in thinking, when people think of champagne, they New Years Eve parties is what comes to mind. This special day of the year is certainly the one day when folks everywhere are drinking out of disposable champagne flutes. Nobody thinks meticulously that they are cheap or made from plastic. They're having a good time and that's what matters in the final research.

It's right that champagne tastes better in glass flutes, but to a normal everyday person that doesn't drink champagne every day you shouldn't be in a position to sample the difference. Your money is utilized more realistically on a pleasanter bottle of fizz than on expensive champagne flutes that you may use only once.

Wine glasses are very essential in the wine tasting experience. In order to properly taste the wine, you must have the correct wine glass. Wine glasses were designed the way they are shaped on purpose.

Red wine glasses all consist of these three components: base, shorter stem, and a wide bowl and mouth. The bowl is shaped to create the bouquet of the wine to enhance the flavor. The mouth of the red wine glass is wide so that it allows you to sip the wine allowing you to taste it at the front of your palette.

Champagne is not only the name of a sparkling wine, but the name of the place that it comes from. The area that it comes from is cooler and has a shorter growing season than that of the typical area where vineyards are found. About one hundred miles northeast of Paris, near the Belgian border is the largest area.

Chalky soils are the best for growing the vineyards because they provide natural moisture regulation with good drainage. The chalk also reflects the sunshine and heat upward to the grape and within to the roots. There is also a thin layer of topsoil receives the needed addition of fertilizer from those that care for the vineyards, called vintners. Some of the vintners care for the vineyards part time. Although there are other zones the three main zones here are Cote des Blancs, the Vallee de la Marne, and Montagne de Reims. The best and biggest are in the department of the Marne.

Champagne has always been seen as a thing of luxury. Most commonly found at celebrations be they weddings or on the podium at the Monaco Grand Prix, Champagne's image has always been one of success. But perhaps that is where the brand that is 'Champagne' suffers. If Champagne is primarily associated with special occasions then it must alienate a large majority of wine consumers solely on this point. Herein lies the problem – Champagne's success is also its failure. The top brands dominate not only the UK market but also those in the USA and Japan – names such as Moët et Chandon, Veuve Clicquot, Perrier Jouët and Mumm crop up time and again as the best sellers. Prestiges cuvées such as Dom Pérignon, Cristal, Krug lead the way in terms of value of sales with rappers such as 50 Cent and P Diddy endorsing their products in their music, again ensuring the image of Champagne remains one of wealth and success.
